AI certainly adds speed for looking things up, but it delivers no additional knowledge about your problem. Because of this, I don't think a chatbot will be successful. People will just end up going to their iFixit site and following the listed steps. When amateurs are fixing things, they need to have step-by-step knowledge of these workflows:
1) exactly how to disassemble the thing enough to find the broken thing
2) exactly what internal part(s) to check and how to do a pass/fail check
3) exactly how to change the bad part
3) exactly how to put everything back together without causing more damage
If the bot generated 3D animations of all these steps, that would be a real game changer.
